Let's meet... our ICC Head of Sales

Today we meet:

Rebecca Bohemia, our new Head of Sales at the ICC. I’ve worked at the NEC Group for nearly 6 years and I work as part of the Convention Sales Team.

What brought you into the events industry?

From a young age I have always had a passion for being in the industry, which consequently led me to studying International Hospitality Management at university. Not only from a local aspect but from a national perspective too, The NEC Group, was always a company I strived to work for.

How do you start the day?

My 2 year old boy is my alarm clock. We always get up together and have breakfast before I attempt to get us ready and out the door for work and nursery.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The team I work with. We are a very driven & passionate team and always very supportive of one another. I would never want to let any of my team down and our mentality is that we are one team and work together to achieve our goals.

What is challenging about your role?

There can be many challenges with my role however there isn’t anything specific which stops me loving what I do. As I say to my team you only really learn from the challenging times and it’s what helps you grow as person and within your career.

Looking ahead to the next year, what are you excited about?

We have had a lot of change within the team; a combination of promotions and new recruits. As a fresh new team I am excited about pulling together and working hard to get the convention business back to where it was pre-pandemic.

Birmingham insider top tip when visiting: Birmingham has the most Michelin starred restaurants outside of London so definitely try and make a visit to one if you can. If that’s not up your street, make sure you go for a curry, nothing beats a curry from Birmingham.
